Your international flight lands in the quaint city of Entebbe, where a private transfer will take you to your overnight accommodation.
After breakfast, your private transfer vehicle takes you on a scenic drive to your next destination. Pass rolling hillsides, tea plantations, arriving at the lodge at mid-afternoon. Enjoy a relaxing evening at the lodge.

During this walk, you’ll learn more about this community-run initiative that aims to conserve the unique biodiversity and environmental values of the wetlands. Once your walk is wrapped up, stop for a bite to eat. By the time you’re done with lunch, the Kibale Forest National Park’s doors should be open for your next activity: chimpanzee tracking. Kibale Forest has one of the highest concentrations of primates in East Africa, with a habituated community of chimps that are located 90% of the time during treks. Spend an hour with these majestic primates, learning about their behaviour and lifestyle. Your day ends back at Ndali Lodge in time for a delectable dinner. By the time you’re done with breakfast, the Kibale Forest National Park’s doors should be open for your next activity: Chimpanzee tracking. Kibale Forest has one of the highest concentrations of primates in East Africa, with a habituated community of chimps that are located 90% of the time during treks. On the way to Bwindi National Park, we will drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, popularly known for the tree-climbing lions. Unlike their counterparts at the Kasenyi plains, the lions at Ishasha have found a way to climb the fig trees to enjoy the warm temperatures. While the sighting of the tree-climbing lions is not 100% guaranteed, a stopover at Ishasha is worth a visit! We will spend the night at Bwindi National Park
Today is the day that many of you will have been waiting for. We will embark on a full-day adventure to track the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Forest National Park. The trek will commence with a short briefing on gorillas trekking rules to ensure the safety of both the guests and the gorillas. We will then start the trek into the Impenetrable Forest to encounter the gentle giants of Bwindi National Park.​ We will follow the expert guides, looking for signs of the gorillas and changing direction accordingly until we find them. After this rare and memorable experience is over, we will spend the rest of the day and night in Bwindi National Park
Begin your day by arriving at the Umubano Wildlife Conservation Initiative projects. Participate in an introductory session to understand the mission, goals, and ongoing projects of the initiative. https://www.umubanowildlife.org Visit the Batwa people and glimpse into the life of one of Africa’s oldest indigenous communities. Historically forest dwellers, the Batwa were displaced in the early 1990's when forests like Bwindi and Mgahinga were designated as national parks to protect endangered species such as mountain gorillas. Today, the Batwa community shares their rich cultural heritage through immersive experiences that also support their ongoing development
Embarking on a golden monkey tracking adventure in either Uganda or Rwanda offers a unique and enriching wildlife experience. Both destinations provide opportunities to observe these endangered primates in their natural bamboo forest habitats, contributing to conservation efforts and supporting local communities. Travel to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park Visitor Centre. Join the pre-tracking briefing by rangers: safety, rules, and monkey behavior explained. Track golden monkeys on foot. Once located, you get 1 hour of observation, taking photos and watching their playful behavior.
Bid farewell to your tour of Uganda as you cross the border into warm and friendly Rwanda. Check in and after lunch visit Gorilla Guardians’ Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village, based in the community bordering Parc National des Volcans. At the village, you will have a wonderful, interactive experience, learning all about Rwandan traditions, culture, song and dance. You can participate in local dances and drumming, all while wearing traditional local “Umushanana” dress; shooting arrows, attending a traditional healer's medicine show.
There are only a handful of places in the world where you can encounter gorillas face-to-face. Uganda and Rwanda are the two premier destinations to do so. And since you got to experience tracking gorillas in Uganda, it’s only right that you get to tick it off in Rwanda too. Gorilla trekking expeditions in Volcanoes National Park is one of the best wilderness adventure activities on the African continent. On the trek you’ll also be rewarded with wonderful views of Volcanoes National Park. On your return, you’ll stop at the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Diane Fossey Gorilla Fund before heading back to the lodge.
After breakfast, it’s time to depart for the final destination on this epic tour: Kigali. You’ll arrive in this beautiful city in time for lunch at the Milles Collines Hotel – film connoisseurs and history buffs will recognise it as the historic hotel in Hotel Rwanda. It was in this very hotel that 1,268 Rwandans were saved from the genocide taking place throughout the country. Keeping with the theme of the day, your trip will continue with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial & Museum to learn more about this tragic event in Rwanda’s history, as well as pay respect to those who lost their lives. Your day will end with an overnight stay at The Retreat, Kigali’s premier boutique hotel that seamlessly blends Italian architecture with top Rwandan craftsmanship and artisanship.
Your journey through Uganda and Rwanda ends here in Kigali. Savour your final breakfast in Africa before being transferred to Kigali International Airport to catch your departure flight home.
